MindE Spacequirl is not just a simple algorithmic reverb, but a complete spatial signal path with three interlocking work areas:

- classic to extreme reverb textures via three independent FDN characters
- rhythmic, tempo-synchronized pre-delay with its own feedback as an independent design element
- ducking, modulation, and tape finishing that turn static reverb into a lively, mix-ready element

Thus, Spacequirl is suitable for both quick mixing work - a ducking control automatically keeps the reverb out of the way of the input signal - as well as deep sound design with freeze, cosmic pitch feedback, and tempo-synchronized pre-delay feedback.

Sound Concept

At the center of Spacequirl is an eight-line feedback delay network that generates different spatial characters through three algorithms: Ground delivers compact, grounded spaces, Airy opens the sound in width and height, Cosmic adds pitch feedback and allows infinitely sustaining, tonally wandering sound fields.

Before the actual reverb sits a rhythmic pre-delay with its own feedback, which can be set manually or tempo-synchronized to sixteenths, eighths, or quarters - an independent rhythmic design element, not just a delay before the reverb.

Ducking ensures that the reverb portion automatically recedes as soon as the input signal is active and refills as it fades out - the ducking detector operates on the raw input signal before the input gain stage, so the duck depth remains predictable regardless of the gain setting. At the end of the chain, the Spacequirl Tape Finishing section refines the processed portion with saturation, flutter, and warmth before low-cut, high-cut, and a latency-free equal-power mix round off the result.
