MindE CyClone
🚀 1. Quick start & philosophy
"One sample in – a universe out."
CyClone breaks down audio into microscopic waveform cycles.
-
3 Source Blades (left): Your raw materials. Each blade is now equipped with high-end sinc resampling to keep vocals and instruments crystal clear even during extreme pitch shifting.
-
1 Fusion Core (right): The reactor that not only mixes the cycles, but mathematically fuses them together.
🖥 2. The user interface (GUI)
The interface uses a physics-based antigravity engine.
-
Magnetic Orbs: Sliders simulate mass. A quick "throw" causes the value to physically fade out (inertia).
-
Energy beams: Pay attention to the colored lines between the blades and the core. Their thickness and pulsation show you exactly how much energy each layer is feeding into the fusion reactor.
-
Star Field: The small particles visualize the dynamics. The faster the particles are sucked into the core, the higher the energy density of the sound.
🎛 3. The Blade Inspector (Deep Synthesis)
Click on a layer orb to open the control center. Here, the algorithms have been optimized for maximum purity and creative madness.
🌊 FLOW (Rhythm & Time) – New in Phase 15
Controls the journey through the cycles. In addition to Forward and PingPong, there is now:
-
Cluster Mode: Plays a "cloud" of adjacent cycles simultaneously. Creates a thick unison effect from just one sample.
-
Euclidean Selector: Selects cycles according to mathematical rhythms. Transforms long pads into pulsating, percussive sequences.
-
Stochastic Jitter: Adds a human "tremor" to the playhead. Prevents rigid repetitions and makes the sound more lively.
🧬 MORPH (Purity & Structure) – New in Phase 14
Here you can choose between absolute purity and aggressive distortion.
-
Spectral Purity (0% - 50%): Now uses Windowed Sinc Interpolation. Especially with vocals, annoying "chirps" and metallic artifacts are automatically eliminated.
-
Phase-Aligned Crossfading: Internal micro-fades prevent digital clicks when changing cycles.
-
Wavefolding (50% - 100%): Folds the waveform for aggressive overtones. Perfect for hammering industrial basses.
💎 PRISM (Stereo Dimension)
Creates enormous width through all-pass diffusers. The sound is "smeared" in the panorama but remains 100% mono-compatible—no phase hole in the middle.
⚛️ 4. The Fusion Reactor
The purple core now offers much more than simple volume mixing. Use the Advanced menu or the new Orb states to activate:
-
Vortex Mode (Ring Mod): Multiplies Layer A by Layer B. Creates completely new, metallic frequencies.
-
Subtractive Fusion: Subtracts the waveform of Layer B from A. Creates hollow, ghostly textures.
-
Cross-Layer Sidechain: Layer 1 (e.g., a kick) can automatically displace layers 2 and 3 in the reactor. This keeps the mix tidy, even when things get loud in the core.
-
Spectral Tilt Balance: Ensures that the sound never loses energy when morphing between two sources.
💾 5. Presets & Team Workflow
CyClone is self-sufficient. One preset contains everything.
-
Total Recall: When you save your DAW project, all samples are safely embedded in the project.
-
The EXPORT button: You'll find the purple Export button in the upper right corner.
-
Click on it to write your current sound as a standalone .cyclone file to your desktop.
-
You can send this file to your team. All they have to do is open the plugin and drag the file into it—all samples will load automatically.
💡 6. Pro tips for vocals & drums
-
Smooth vocals: Use Crossing Mode: Texture (16), set MORPH to 25% (Purity) and activate Cluster Mode in Flow. The voice will become silky and broad.
-
Hybrid drums: Load a kick in Layer 1 and a metallic percussion hit in Layer 2. Use Vortex Mode at 20% Mix in the Fusion Layer. You'll get a kick with a unique, metallic "crack."
-
Artifact check: If vocals clang in the high range, slightly reduce the Density in the Flow module. This gives the Sinc interpolation more time to calculate the waveform cleanly.
